Kristine Dowhan
Founder and Chief Librarian, 2020-Present
Kristine Dowhan founded the St. Pete Shush in July 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. She brings 5 years of Business Management expertise from the corporate world, focusing on organization, planning, growth, and the strategic mission of the Shush.
Kristine grew up near Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Mathematics. She enjoys going out in St. Pete with her husband, curling up with her dog and a romance or YA novel, watching Downton Abbey, and doing home improvement projects around her home on Snell Isle, St. Petersburg.
Nicole St Leger
Director, 2021-Present
Nicole St Leger established her Little Free Library in September 2020. She brings over 20 years of experience working with nonprofits and overseeing committees of volunteers, event planning & marketing.
Nicole grew up in California and Connecticut, moving to the Tampa Bay Area in high school. She graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in International Studies, specializing in East Asian Studies with minors in Chinese Language & Literature and Economics. She enjoys reading and sharing diverse books, along with creating projects by sewing, jewelry making, and crafting, and enjoys a water sports life. She and her husband share their home with four children and two dogs on Bayou Grande, St. Petersburg.
Heather Conley
Director, 2022-Present
Heather Conley established her Little Free Library in February 2021. Having filled various roles over 20 years in social services, she brings first-hand knowledge of the impact of books in homes and process management experience.
Heather came to Florida in middle school, moving to the Tampa Bay Area in 2006. She graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Psychology. She enjoys reading historical nonfiction, creating graphic art and kayaking. She resides in St. Petersburg, where she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
